Echoes of Distant Lights

A laser creation that invites you to a poetic and aesthetic reflection on light, space and time

Temporary exhibition on multiple levels

From 18/12/2024 – Until 04/01/2026

The Atomium is proud to host "Echoes of Distant Lights" by Magicstreet, a new laser and light art installation that invites visitors on an immersive journey through the wonders of the universe. Set within an iconic sphere of the Atomium, the installation explores both the infinitely small and the vast expanse of space, connecting us to the fundamental mysteries of existence.

Brussels artist Antoine Goldschmidt, founder of the studio Magicstreet, has combined his passion for light with the rich heritage of the Atomium to create a unique experience. In perfect harmony with the metal structure of the Atomium, his creation dialogues with the interior architecture of the monument. Underlining and playing with the edges of the sphere, it seems to come to life, transforming itself into a stellar capsule that takes visitors off into distant universes. Laser beams pass through a suspended glass sculpture, producing organic patterns inspired by celestial landscapes: nebulae, galaxies and distant stars. Light and movement guide visitors through a poetic exploration of time and the universe, where each beam seems to be an echo of vanished worlds. The installation is accompanied by an original soundtrack composed by Brussels artist and musician Ofer Smilansky.

“Echoes of Distant Lights” is more than a visual experience; it is a poetic meditation on light, time, and existence. It reminds us of our small place in the universe and invites us to humbly reflect on the interconnectedness of all things. Don’t miss this unique exploration of cosmic wonder at the Atomium.
