Past temporary exhibition

From 18/12/2024 – Until 04/01/2026

The Atomium was proud to host "Echoes of Distant Lights", a digital art installation by artist Antoine Goldschmidt from studio Magicstreet. This original creation invited audiences on a visual and auditive journey to the heart of the cosmos, where laser light and sound came together in a unique immersive experience.

Brussels artist Antoine Goldschmidt, founder of the studio Magicstreet, has combined his passion for light with the rich heritage of the Atomium to create a unique experience. In perfect harmony with the metal structure of the Atomium, his creation dialogued with the interior architecture of the monument. Underlining and playing with the edges of the sphere, it seemed to come to life, transforming itself into a stellar capsule that took visitors off into distant universes. Laser beams passed through a suspended glass sculpture, producing organic patterns inspired by celestial landscapes: nebulae, galaxies and distant stars. Light and movement guided visitors through a poetic exploration of time and the universe, where each beam seemed to be an echo of vanished worlds. The installation was accompanied by an original soundtrack composed by Brussels artist and musician Ofer Smilansky.

“Echoes of Distant Lights” was more than a visual experience; it was a poetic meditation on light, time, and existence. It reminded us of our small place in the universe and invited us to humbly reflect on the interconnectedness of all things. Is was a unique exploration of cosmic wonder at the Atomium.
