Entry requirements - Covid Safe Ticket

As from 16 years

We want visits and events at the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels to take place as safely as possible. This is why, in accordance with the current regulations of the Federal Government regarding COVID, you must present your COVID SAFE TICKET to access the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels from 15/10/2021.

To get access to the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels, each visitor (aged 16 and over) must present a Covid Safe Ticket and a valid official identity document. Children under the age of 16 will thus not have to present a Covid Safe Ticket.

Before accessing the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels (parking & queue) and throughout the visit, barrier gestures, including mask and social distance, will always be applicable.

What are the conditions to enter the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels ?

The COVID SAFE TICKET (QR code on the COVIDSAFE.be application or QR Code in paper version "European COVID Digital Certificate") will allow entry if:

  • You have a vaccination certificate that proves that you are fully vaccinated at least two weeks before.
  • You have a NEGATIF PCR test less than 72 hours old (date and time of the test) o Validity: day of the test + 3 days (end of validity at 23:59)
  • You present a NEGATIVE ANTIGENIC test less than 48 hours old (date and time of the test) o Validity : day of the test + 2 days (end of validity at 23:59) o Important : this antigenic test must be performed by a healthcare professional, NO personal testing!
  • You have a recovering certificate following a positive PCR test (more than 10 days and less than 6 months) via the CovidSafeBE app.

Different scenarios if you get tested :
✅ If the test is negative, you can enter the site
❌ If you do not have a valid QR code or official ID, you will not be able to access the site
❌ If you take a self-test, you will not be able to enter the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels. Only antigenic tests carried out by a healthcare professional and registered on your CovidSafeBE application or via the myhealth.be website are valid!
❌ If it is impossible to control the test, you will not be able to access the site. It is therefore important to download the CovidSafeBE app before going to the event or starting your visit, and present yourself at the entrance with your valid official ID and a sufficiently charged smartphone. Screenshots will not be accepted.
❌ If the test is positive, you will not be allowed to enter the site.

Regarding school groups, a class can visit the Atomium and the Design Museum Brussels without having to show the CST, even if they are students over 16 years old. Reminder: wearing a mask remains mandatory from 12 years old throughout the visit of the two sites.

How does this happen in practice ?

Go to the entrance with your valid Covid Safe Ticket (= QR code on the COVIDSAFE.BE application or QR code in paper version "European COVID Digital Certificate").

Attention: your valid *official ID is checked simultaneously with your QR code, make sure you have a valid official ID on you.
*Identity document = any document that indicates the respective name of the person who presents himself with the QR code (identity card, passport, driver's license, student card, etc.)

Attention : Good visibility is necessary. Damaged phones (broken screen, scratched, cracked, ...) making the QR code unreadable will not be accepted and considered invalid. The printing of the "European COVID Digital Certificate" must be perfect, all the elements must be visible without any confusion.

Where can I get my COVID SAFE TICKET ?

Your COVID SAFE TICKET is the same as your Digital Covid Certificate : i.e. a valid QR code from the CovidSafeBE app.

If you are staying in Belgium, we will scan the valid QR code of your CovidSafeBE app.

For visitors from another country in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will scan the QR code issued in your home country. For these too, it will be necessary to respect the criteria mentioned above: complete vaccination + 2 weeks, PCR test -72h, AG test -48h or recovery certificate.
Such a Covid Safe Ticket can only be generated for the persons who have obtained a vaccination certificate, test certificate or reinstatement certificate in a member state of the EU, the European Economic Area (Vatican City, Andorra, San Marino and Monaco are assimilated to the EEA) or in the UK or Switzerland. Non-residents can also obtain the CST. To do so, you must request an activation code (CTPC code) via www.mijngezondheid.be (https://www.masante.belgique.be/#/covid19/prescriptions/request). You can then request your result and certificate via the application (request result via ctpc) or via https://www.masante.belgique.be/#/covid-19/test-result.

Attention, in France, the government accepts full vaccination after a single dose if the citizen has been infected with Covid-19, which is not the case in Belgium. It is therefore necessary to have 2 doses + 2 weeks, or 1 dose + 2 weeks concerning the J&J vaccine.

IMPORTANT: you must install the CovidSafeBE app or another "European Digital Covid Certificate" app on your smartphone. Screenshots are not allowed. Without a valid QR code and your valid official ID, we cannot check your Covid status and therefore you cannot enter the Atomium or the Design Museum Brussels. So don't forget your valid official ID! You can download the CovidSafeBE app for free from the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store.

What to do if I may not enter ?

If a red light appears when checking your QR code, you will be denied access. It is therefore your responsibility to meet the conditions of the Covid Safe Ticket.

If a red light appears when scanning the QR code on the COVIDESAFE.be app, update your app or reinstall it.
